Hot Pilates

What do you look for in a workout class or organization? Do you like Hot Pilates? I have tried Hotworx hot pilates a few times now and have created some pros and cons that I have gathered from the 45 minute class. The first thing I noticed about hot pilates is it is extremely hot because of the saunas Hotworx uses. I would not consider it being hot a con though because it allows you to get in a good sweat and feel accomplished after you are done. One con that I did notice while taking the class was that it is the same class and instructor each time, so I have started to memorize the movements throughout the workout. On the other hand, I really enjoyed hot pilates because there are three different modifications: beginner, intermediate, and advanced all within the same class. Having the three modifications all together makes the class super fun because you can go with friends even if they are more advanced than you. During the class, you are in a sauna with yourself and maybe one other person. In the sauna, there is a tv that has the virtual instructor taking you through the 45 minute hot pilates class. While this seems like it could be a waste of money, I think it is beneficial because it allows for multiple time options for the class and it allows you to feel at peace while taking the class instead of being anxious of your surroundings and how you are doing compared to everyone. After the class is over, you are guided through a virtual cool down where you use a foam roller to roll out everything you just worked on during the pilates class. Overall, I think hot pilates is very beneficial and allows you to feel better about yourself in the end.
